How chamomile helps with teething

I was recently asked to write an article ‘Top 10 Tips to help your Teething Baby’ which was sponsored by Teetha Ireland. You can read all about it here – Read the article.

In less than a week the article has been viewed over 6k times which really shows how many of you are actually in this space right at this moment so I hope some of those tips helped your little one get a little relief.

Teetha Gel - product page gelBaby Led Feeding is all about natural food, natural health and so for me to agree to work with any brand I have to be able to 100% stand over the product and more importantly have used it. I used Teetha on my own little ones to calm them down when they were teething so it really was a great partnership

Since writing the previous article I have read so much about chamomile (the main ingredient in Teetha), where it comes from and why it works so well to calm our little babies down.

What is Chamomile?

Chamomile is not a new fad, it is an herb that has been used for centuries! Normally drank in tea form it is known to help with digestion, calming upset tummies, promoting sleep and of course calming teething babies (in Homeopathic form). It has been used to make shampoos, creams and natural remedies.

Chamomile comes from the daisy family – hence the sweet little daisy looking flowers. It comes in two varieties – Roman Chamomile and German Chamomile. Roman Chamomile is generally used to make creams and cosmetics which the Roman Chamomile is the one that we eat or drink.

How does it work for Teething?

Teetha Granules ProductChamomile is a mild relaxant and also has anti-inflammatory properties. Because Teetha is homoeopathic, it naturally helps to relieve the symptoms of teething by both relaxing your little one and offers soothing and easing relief of the symptoms of Teething, at the same time – naturally.

The first few times I gave Teetha to Oscar I had to help him keep his little mouth open but he liked the taste so after that it got much easier. Then the moment he saw the little pouch of granules coming and would just let me pour them into his mouth. They dissolve really quickly and within a few minutes, he was back to his happy self.
