About 3 months ago I bought a bag of pearl barley with full intentions of actually trying to use it. It remained there hidden until yesterday when I made this delicious roast vegetable with lemon and thyme dressing dish. It was also the first time that Oscar (aged 9 months) decided that he wanted to eat with a spoon. Not a lot actually made it to his mouth and he ended up eating with one hand and trying to spoon feed himself with the other.
What’s so good about Pearl Barley?
As cereals go pearl barley is one of the best. It is jam packed with fibre, contains important vitamins and minerals such as B3, B1, selenium, iron, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus and copper.
The size of the barley makes it really easy for your little one to pick up. It is soft and makes an amazing baby food and is full of nutrients your baby needs to grow and stay healthy.
