2 Ingredient Naan Bread

5   2 Comments Published Apr 23, 2020   Updated Jun 02, 2023

I LOVE getting take-away or take out like you folks in the US like to call it. We don’t do it very often, but when we do, my favourite has always been Indian. Delicious creamy curry, fluffy Indian rice, and of the loveliest part, buttery garlic naan bread. It’s my guilty pleasure in life, because…

Everyone needs a good naan in their life!I know, I know. BUT it’s very, very true! 😀

The recipe for my 2 Ingredient Naan Bread is the exact same as my 2 Ingredient Bread Rolls. These incidentally have been viewed over 250k times in just ONE WEEK! WHAAAAT!

For this recipe, I used 1 cup of flour and 1 cup of yogurt, then mixed together until it formed into a dough. I didn’t roll out on the countertop and instead, just grabbed balls of dough, shaped them into little circles then flattened them using my hands.

The cooking method is totally different though. These naans are fried on a dry frying pan until both sides are golden brown. They literally take 2.5mins both sides so it is the quickest recipe you will ever make in your entire life…EVER! Just because it is a quick one though, don’t underestimate the tastiness!

My 2 ingredients Naan Breads taste exactly like the ones you get from your favourite Indian. To be fair, my local Indian makes super delicious naans, but I think I’ll be cooking up these before paying for them again….eeek (sorry not sorry!).

My love of Indian Food

In 2011, I traveled around India for a month and it was the most incredible experience of my entire life! Indian people absolutely love showing others how to make yummy food. By just offering compliments to the chef (as you do when you have tasted the BEST Indian curry recipe ever) the chef would invite you into the kitchen and teach you how to make it! I learned so much about cooking. How to temper spices. How to cook onions that will make the absolute best curries.

Besides learning so much, I also realized that Indian curries, especially the ones from the south of India in Kerla, are more flavorsome than hot spicy. They are filled with spice, fresh herbs, and vegetables but without that absolute hit of chilli.

This is especially good when giving kids curry. It is a really great way to get them used to spices and amazing exotic flavours.

Do you have any good curry recipe?

YES, I do! I cook curry all the time, and I am so mindful of how to actually give curry to kids. The aim is to grow their love for my favourite food so they ask for it every week, and then in turn…well I get to eat curry every week. Total win/win for me 🙂

Vegan Naan Recipe

If you want to make these into vegan naans, then all you need is your regular vegan yogurt and 1 lemon. Add 1 cup of yogurt to a bowl and the juice of 1/2 a lemon. Mix together well until it is fully combined. Then use like you would regular yogurt.
