If there were baby led weaning breakfast awards, overnight oats would surely come out with loads of gold. You’re talking fiber, folate, super easy, and so versatile! Almost any dessert can be transformed into a nutritious meal that has magically prepared itself during the night. Seriously—how can you beat that? To top it off, adding ingredients like yogurt, cottage cheese, nuts, or (insert tasty ingredient here) make it simple to create a complete, healthy breakfast for kids that is also clean enough to call itself a baby food recipe. Win-win and another win.

Now, without further ado, let us introduce Carrot Cake Overnight Protein Oats.

Baby Led Feeding Recipe Carrot Cake Overnight Oats3

This is one of my favorite healthy kids’ breakfasts because it not only tastes like carrot cake, it’s fun to make! This is an ideal baby led weaning recipe to busy your tots in the kitchen—plus, everyone knows bananas are sweeter when they’re mashed by teeny hands. For your very little littles, it’s a delightfully sweet baby food recipe that will guarantee smiles.

Preparing this healthy breakfast for your kids is so simple that I give Oscar most of the grunt work. I grate the carrots, letting him take over as Head Banana Masher. If you’ve got a few that are overripe, they’ll work wonderfully here! When I make these, I prefer to use High Protein Cottage Cheese. It creates a beautiful, creamy porridge that is loaded with healthy protein. Please trust me on the cheese even if your kids aren’t fond of the curds. It blends seamlessly, adding just the right amount of “richness” to make it taste more like dessert than a baby food recipe.

Once you’re done grating and mashing, just combine all ingredients, making sure to give it a good swirl so the oats will be exposed to as much moisture as possible. After that, just pop the mixture into a glass jar and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight. In the morning, top it with a good dollop of Greek Yogurt and chopped walnuts, and there you have it! A tasty, healthy breakfast for kids, adults, and babies alike. Enjoy!

We are making a huge effort to better ourselves here at Baby Led Feeding, so if you try this recipe, let us know how it goes! Leave a comment, rate it, and don’t forget to tag a photo #babyledfeeding on Instagram or Facebook.
