Chunky Monkey Overnight Oats & Porridge Bites for Baby Led Weaning
My Aveeno Story
I’m one of those super sensitive Mommas when it comes to my skin and when my babies came along I knew after the first baby bath they had all taken after me. I have always had to ensure the products I use are not only gentle but most importantly filled with natural ingredients.
After a recommendation from a friend, I started using Aveeno® Baby on my first daughter almost 19 years ago when we lived in San Francisco! Even writing this makes me feel really old 😀 19 YEARS!!!!!!! WHAT!

My smallest baby (although I’m not actually supposed to call him a baby any more) is 7 and I still only use the Aveeno® Baby Hair and Body Wash for him. It’s so gentle and never irritates his super sensitive skin. He also LOVES the new Aveeno Baby Calming Comfort™ lotion with Lavender for his odd requested back massage…Yes a back massage but he’s the little love of my life so I’m happy to oblige 🙂

Oats are my number one favourite ingredient in the world ever! We eat them every single day from porridge, to adding them into smoothies, to making granola and oat bars for after school snacks.
Oats themselves are complex carbohydrates which means they provide slow-releasing energy which keeps you and your little ones full for longer. They are also packed full of protein, fiber, iron, zinc, AND B Vitamins too and that is even before we talk about how good it is for your skin! As a skincare ingredient Oats are also incredibly nutritious for your baby’s skin as they are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and they naturally moisturise and calm the skin.

Through my partnership with Aveeno® Baby, I have learned even more about how great oats are! They’re considered one of life’s most powerful grains. The oat ingredient has been used since Egyptian times to help moisturise skin and calm dry and irritated skin. Science has now shown that the ingredient of oats is clinically proven to soothe, moisturise and protect skin, cleanse the skin and normalise the pH of the skin, essential for a healthy looking, strong skin barrier.
There are products for every skin type. Aveeno® Baby Daily Care for normal to dry skin, the Aveeno® Baby Soothing Relief range for dry skin prone to irritation, the Aveeno® Baby Dermexa range suitable for skin prone to eczema and the Aveeno Baby Calming Comfort™ range which I absolutely love!
Obviously, I am slightly obsessed with oats so you can imagine just how happy it makes me to partner with Aveeno® Baby to share an AMAZING new oat recipe with you! You are going to love this one!

How to make overnight oats
If you are looking for a recipe to get your kids cooking, then an overnight oats recipe is the best one to start with. Oscar has been making his own overnight oats since he was just 2 years old and now he comes up with his own concoctions for his morning mix.
This recipe is one of my absolute favourite overnight oats recipes EVER! It tastes like a treat even though it is packed full of amazing ingredients. I’ve used a raw chocolate that I found in my local health store which is really lovely. For smaller babies you can leave this out but for older toddlers and Mums and Dads it is a lovely addition to oats.
This recipe is smooth, chocolatey, peanut buttery (if that is a word) and I promise you will have zero hesitation in getting your kids to eat their porridge in the morning.

This Super Healthy Chunky Monkey Overnight Oats recipe for kids can be served 2 ways;
Toddlers and Older Kids (and Parents)
Serve in a suitable jar (no glass for smaller toddlers). Make up the oat mixture, then top with Coconut Yogurt, Banana, Sunflower Butter (or peanut butter if no allergies), Desiccated Coconut and a light grating of Raw Chocolate for a healthy treat!

Babies 6 months – 18 Months
Make up the mixture, then pour into a mini muffin tin, bake at 180ºC for 20 minutes until the oats have set and serve warm with a dollop of yogurt on top.
