Couscous Chocolate Granola - Nutritious Baby Snack
With Easter fast approaching, I am firstly in the mindset of chocolate but secondly, thinking how can I make the occasion that little bit healthier. I wanted to make a chocolate baby snack for the kids that would be a nourishing one and full of good ingredients too.
Healthy Granola made using Couscous – Is this a thing?
Yes, it is now! I have been experimenting with different ingredients for granola and I am so happy that couscous worked so amazingly well! Couscous is made using durum wheat or semolina flour and is often mistaken for a grain. It is high in minerals and vitamins and is a great addition to your little ones diet.
Before mixing the ingredients together I basically dried everything in the oven for about 15 minutes. Just until the cooked couscous, oats and apple were a little crispy. I then mixed them all together and cooked for a further 15 minutes. This is well worth doing because the results are much much nicer. Trust me! Overall it is a really easy recipe to make and it lasts in an airtight container for a week!
Chocolate Recipes for Toddlers
To serve I sprinkled a little granola over Greek Yogurt and served with a handful of raspberries. It was amazing and the kids devoured it! Such a nutritious snack for kids and so delicious you will make it time and time again.
I hope you like it and if you make it please tag me on Instagram #babyledfeeding. I can’t WAIT to see what you think of it!
