Toddler Breakfast Recipes for the Whole Family - Loaded Oatmeal Breakfast Bowl!

Not rated yet   No Comments Published Dec 07, 2022   Updated Jun 02, 2023

The best toddler breakfast recipe ever! Guaranteed empty bowls every single time! Heat oats, cinnamon, and coconut milk. Top with berries and banana, and drizzle with peanut butter, adding mixed seeds, dark chocolate.

What Are the Benefits to Eating Oatmeal?

Oatmeal really is packed with everything your mom promised, and more. The benefits of tons of fiber, phosphorus, thiamine, magnesium, and zinc are all included. Eating oats regularly is good for your heart and can also help control your blood sugar, as well as promote regular bowel movements. Goodness all around! I give oats to my kids every single morning with the exception of Sundays when we make pancakes.

How Much Protein is in Oatmeal?

Oatmeal has a protein content of between 11% and 15%, or about 2.4 grams of protein for every 100 grams of oatmeal. How much is that, really? In contrast, steak has about 25 grams of protein/100 grams, and yogurt about 10 grams of protein/100 grams.

It also depends on the milk you use too! We are vegetarian in our house so for my kids I use a high protein cows milk and for me I use a fortified almond and coconut milk (super delicious).

Why Add Seeds, Dark Chocolate, and Peanut Butter?

I love having variety in all my recipes. The crushed seeds and smooth peanut butter add a nutty flavor to this blw baby breakfast as well as a lot of protein which is great for growing minds and bodies. The dark chocolate brings in antioxidants aglow, as well as beneficial minerals.  It’s a breakfast few can resist, at any age!

You can leave out the chocolate from your babies portion – I just like to add it for us lovely Mommas ♥︎

My Favorite Recipes with oatmeal

The great thing about blw breakfast ideas and blw foods by age is they can introduce your kids to so many different textures, colors, and flavors that really get them involved with the world from the moment their day starts. This one can also be used as an overnight oats recipe by adding the toppings in the morning.
