We all know how tricky it can be to find healthy kids food that our children will love, and the same can be said when looking for healthy kids’ drinks too. While there are loads of toddler drinks on the supermarket shelves and most of them look really good, more often than not, they are unhealthy and full of sugar. While your kids need drinks all year round, at this time of year, it’s even more important to keep your kids extra-hydrated. In the summer they’ll be playing outside in the heat and the sunshine, enjoying sports and generally running around with their friends…and they’re going to get thirsty!

What your kid drinks is just as important as how much they drink, especially since there are so many choices for kids today that look deceptively healthy but are not. Not only are many of the drinks available today are full of added sugar, but they are also full of calories, and even caffeine and most of them have absolutely no nutritional value. Not only do they not have any nutritional value, but drinks like sodas suppress the appetite too meaning that kids are less likely to eat nourishing foods.

Water is obviously a great option to keep your kids hydrated. However, many kids don’t like it, they find it boring, and they want something with a little more flavour that they will actually want to drink rather than you trying to force it down them. So, lucky for you, I have the answer to this problem, a lovely nourishing treat for when your toddler is craving something different. This no added sugar lemonade is not only healthy, but kids actually love it too. It is a great summer drink for kids, and a great way to get children drinking less of the store bought fizzy drinks. In this lemonade, there is no sugar added, and it is simply sweetened with fruit. To get the best results, you just fill the glass one-quarter full of the juice mixture and then top it with sparkling water to make a fizzy drink.
