Teenie Tiny Baby Pancakes Featured

How do I give my baby pancakes for baby led weaning?

These Teenie Tiny Baby Pancakes with Buttermilk and Lemon are one of the easiest ways to give your baby pancakes. They are the best first food for weaning and are packed full of goodness.

Servings 4

  • 1 cup 120g self raising flour
  • 2/3 cup 180ml buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice 1/2 lemon
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • To serve
  • Fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1/2 cup 100g raspberries
  • 1/2 tsp of maple syrup per serving
  • Fresh mint leaves

  • Add the flour to a bowl, then using a spatula make a well in the centre. Pour in the buttermilk then add the egg, lemon zest and juice and stir from the centre in until all of the flour is mixed smoothly.
  • Heat a non stick pan over a medium heat, then melt about 1/2 a teaspoon of butter.
  • Spoon roughly half a tablespoon of pancake mixture to the pan and repeat leaving a little space in between each mini pancake. This will prevent them from sticking together.
  • Once the top starts to bubble flip over (I like to use a little spoon to help).
  • Serve with sliced strawberries, raspberries and a little drizzle of maple syrup, then finally a few spinkles of mint leaves.
