These super easy apple rollups are refined sugar free and make a perfect treat for Baby Led Feeding. Healthy Homemade Baby Food Recipes.

Ingredients

Method

  • Heat your oven to it’s lowest setting. (Mine goes down to 80ºC/175ºF)
  • If you are using the dates and nutmeg blend them with your apple sauce until really smooth (or just skip this step if you want pure sauce).
  • Line a medium sized baking tray with parchment paper and pour your apple sauce in and spread evenly. It should come up about 5mm or so.
  • Place your tray into the oven and leave it for between 8-9 hours. It should completely dry out and not have any soft/puree in it (your aiming to dry out the apple not cook it).
  • When it feels completely dry and has no sticky parts to it take the tray out of the oven. The apple will have stuck to the paper but I used a spatula on the corners and was able to easily peel the apple and paper apart.
  • Use a scissors to cut them into baby strips of apply yumminess.

Recipe Notes & Tips

To make apple sauce (apple purée) simply peel and core the apples and then cut into small pieces. Place in a saucepan and for every apple add roughly 2 tablespoons of water. Turn the heat on and bring to the boil, then turn the heat down really low, put a lid on your pot and allow to simmer for about 10 minutes. Transfer your apples to your blender (or use a soup blender in the pot) and blend until it becomes a smooth purée.
