Edible Gift Idea for Toddlers - Cranberry and Macadamia Cookie Jars
This Christmas, I have encouraged my smaller kids to make presents rather than buying them. Let’s face it, we as parents are really buying the presents anyway because no 4 year old has money to go out shopping. That is unless we have given it to them. So, I have given some some edible gift ideas that they can pick and choose for the people they love ????

Most Grannies I know (the very best ones) would actually really like a homemade edible gift anyway from their grandchild. Especially if that child was responsible for making the gift and this Homemade Christmas Cookies in a jar are one of the easiest ways to start this gorgeous new tradition.
Fun Toddler Christmas Activity
Get your toddler to stand on a little chair beside you. Show them the number they need to reach on the scale for weighing ingredients or the size of the cup that needs to be filled. The joy for a parent, is just watching their little faces as they fill up the jars. They really just feel like they have ‘done it all on their own’. Just you watch and see.

Large Jar Ingredients
The large jar should contain all of the dry ingredients;
Oats, Flour, Dried Cranberries, Crushed Macadamia Nuts, Cinnamon and Ginger.
I like to layer these in the jar because it looks super pretty, but if you have a toddler that was anything like mine, the jar is getting shaken! It will still looks gorgeous though.
Mini Jar Ingredients
For the mini jar, just use an old jam pot that has a lid. You will need to add maple syrup mixed with a little olive oil. This will go hand and hand with your present and can also be placed (closed) inside the bigger jar if it is big enough.

Decorating your Healthy Christmas Cookie Jar
Healthy Christmas Cookie Jars can be decorated like mine in the photos with some simple brown twine and a piece of Christmas tree. I also like to add a little label which has the recipe instructions.
Very simply like this;
- Mix the contents of this jar with 2 eggs + 2 tbsp melted butter.
- Shape into cookies.
- Bake at 180ΒΊC/350ΒΊC for 20 minutes.
