When you think of the word ‘treat’ what immediately springs to mind. This isn’t’ one of those ‘i’m reading your mind posts because I did a survey and the one word that sticks out is… sugar! No surprise there when so many treats bought in the supermarket are packed with more sugar than you can shake a stick at (that’s an Irish expression).
Reducing the amount of sugar we feed our children will make a difference to their health both now and for many years to come. But, I know it’s hard to change the perception that a treat can actually be something that is healthy!
So…Let’s toss out the junk food!
Ok, so I know that isn’t going to happen but hopefully, some of these amazing recipe below will help make treat time fun again and more importantly will keep your kids happy and super healthy too!
Kid Friendly Smoothie Pops
Seriously how cute do these little guys look? Cool your little one’s gums down with a healthy treat they will want. Smoothies make great pops and you can make them mostly veggie based too for lot’s of goodness and less sugar.
