Apple Crumble Baby Led Weaning Muffins
These little apple crumble muffins are so good you’ll want to make them every week, but they’re also healthy enough for baby led weaning too! There are few things I love more than the smell of something wonderful baking in the kitchen. It always takes me back to my childhood when my mum or grandmother would be cooking something delicious in the house. When you bake these wonderfully delicious apple crumble muffins a wonderful smell is going to permeate your entire house! Baking these little healthy treats is worth it just for the aroma!
Apple crumble muffins – The perfect baby led weaning healthy treat
Truly the worst part about this apple muffin recipe is peeling the 4 apples. Did I mention that I hate peeling anything, especially apples? It’s just so darn time consuming! Luckily in this recipe you’ll only have to go to the trouble of peeling 4 small 49c mini apples from Dunnes Stores. They are amazingly sweet and these baby friendly muffins are totally worth the apple peeling time!
It is almost like a game of mine to see just how healthy and low in sugar I can make my sweet treats for the kids. With this dessert, I have to say I’m impressed with how low I got the added sugar in this one! You won’t even notice that the recipe only uses 1 tablespoon of maple syrup in 24 muffins! Now that’s crazy! Only a tablespoon of added maple syrup for sweetness. I like to think of this as a baby led feeding win!
An easy freezer friendly treat!
You will love having these on hand for those busy days when you want something quick for your little one. Make a double batch of these apple muffins and freeze half of them. Muffins are such a great make ahead food to use as an on the go snack for your toddlers, lunch box treat, or quick and easy after dinner dessert. They are non messy, easy for little hands to manage, and are great for filling up the freezer too! I would love to hear how it goes making these amazing little muffins for your babies. There are also so many different variations and additions you can add to this recipe. Let me know your inspiration creations in the comments below!
Happy weaning,
Aileen xoxo
