My Baby's First Breakfast Cookie Recipe
Good morning! We are here to make your life as simple as possible, and we know how busy breakfast time can be for families. So say hello to your baby’s first breakfast cookie recipe. More commonly know as The best breakfast cookie EVER for your baby led weaning breakfast. Lets start the day off sugar free with just bananas and apples to sweeten the taste for your little ones.
We have made these cookies super healthy, to help start your day in the right way. We also know how important texture is when you are looking at baby led weaning recipes. So these breakfast cookies will come out perfectly soft ideal for your baby’s hands.
We are using simple ingredients to make these delicious cookies. When it comes to a healthy breakfast recipe using oats with their many health benefits is a great start, but also helps keep your little one’s tummy full until snack time. Oats are complex carbohydrates which means they provide slow-releasing energy which keeps you and your little ones full for longer. They are also packed full of protein, fibre, iron, zinc, AND B Vitamins too.
How to make Breakfast Cookies
We have made this breakfast recipe nice and simple to make. Start by adding the oil to a mixing bowl. Then I recommend you press the bananas before opening them, which then helps to soften them. Then pee them and add to the bowl along with the egg, then using a fork, mash well until smooth.
Get your apples and peel them, finely dice and add these to the cookie mixture. Then a great way to help divide the mixture is to use an ice cream scoop, use this to divide the mixture into cookies. For smaller babies 6 months-12 months, divide the mixture into roughly 1 heaped tablespoon-sized cookies. Press the mixture down slightly using the back of the spoon.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, test them by using a a skewer into the cookie and making sure it comes out clean and the apple is soft.
Can I freeze cookies?
This is a great recipe to make ahead for the week. The cookies will keep in an air tight container for around 5 days, but you can always freeze the cookies ready for when you need them.
These breakfast cookies are great to serve on their own, but we suggest they go with a side of fruit for a really easy and quick baby-led weaning breakfast idea.
